I like it simply because it's a quicker game. You can finish one of the areas in 1-2 hours. I like the nighttime. I feel it's mostly the same as Most Wanted, biggest different being the map. Most wanted had a lot of straight high speed areas, and carbon was a smaller city with more turns. I love both personally as I grew up on them.

I recently reinstalled NFS Most Wanted 2005, applied v1.3 and ThirteenAG widescreen to run it on 1366x768 on my crappy rig. Expected some smooth racing on a game that old, but turning up the settings to Medium and especially Visual Treatment to High (I can't play with that off, it looks way too bad), it somehow manages 25 fps with dropping to 15 during police chases.
